Grayslake, IL — Idstein Mortgage Services, Inc. has just received the highest rating issued to mortgage brokers by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

 In the examination, Idstein received a rating of ‘1’ indicating “strong performance” and “compliance that is significantly higher than average” in all areas of inspection including Management, Capital Adequacy, Compliance and Operations..

“Our business has remained strong through some very volatile times in the mortgage industry,” said Ken Idstein. “Our high ratings show the commitment that my team and I have always had to work diligently for my customers.”

Over 55% of Mortgage Brokers have left the industry since 2006. This is in part due to the strict compliance requirements now being mandated by Federal and State regulators.

This examination had three major objectives as stated by the State of Illinois. 1. To determine the Licensee’s compliance with the Act and the Agency’s Administrative Rules; 2. To determine compliance with other laws and rules related to residential mortgage lending; and 3. To identify weaknesses in internal control and other deficiencies that may affect the Licensee compliance.
